Mom turns 68

I can't believe my mom is already 68. She got married at 34, had me at 35 and now she's 68! Well, you wouldn't believe it either if you see her. She looks a lot younger than most 50 year old women I know. 100% natural beauty!

Here's a card I made to greet her on her special day.

The patterned papers are from DCWV (Pocket Full of Posies and Value Stack), while the cardstock sheets are from Bazzil. I used my brand new Stampin Up stamps here (Morning Soft). I colored the stamped image using the Stampin Up chalk and blender pens (or is it blender brush? whatever!). I love the blender pens!!! I also used the Stampin Up puncher to get that notebook edge.

The inside page was created using the Morning Soft stamp. I just added a handwritten greeting for my mom. I chalked the edges as well to carry the purple color inside the card.

I stamped and colored another sheet of cardstock, then I cut the flower image and adhered it on the same flower image in my card for a 3D look.

I stamped this at the back of the card, also using a Stampin Up stamp.

Just a note on the flower image. I was so carried away coloring the image that I didn't notice the "morning glory" at the bottom portion of the image. All along, I thought it was a gumamela (hibiscus) flower, hence, the color I used. I just checked the internet a few minutes ago and found out that morning glory flowers are blue!!! Next time, I'll pay more attention to details. :)
